So I recently watched one of the coolest shows i’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve been putting off watching this thing for a long time. However. I am really glad I did. There are some amazing actors in there that i’m sure you all have heard of. James Franco, Jason Segel, and Seth Rogan are probably the most famous actors you have heard of.

I had heard so much hype around this show, and normally I am pretty reluctant to like something that has such a cult following because I don’t want to be let down. However, just because of the cast alone, I was pretty stoked going into this show and had some pretty high expectations, which is pretty rare for me.

I want to talk less about what the show is about and more about how the show made me feel. If someone hasn’t seen the show, I want them to go in blind like I did. However, I will give you the basic premise of the show. It is about a brother and sister. They are both brains, but one stick with their geeky friends while the older sister decides to start hanging out with the “freaks.”

Judd Apatow is known for some serious hits like Pineapple Express, 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, Stepbrothers, and Heavyweights just to name a few. This was one of the first chances for Judd Apatow to really show just how genius he can be.

Ok, I normally get pretty into the shows that I watch, but I can say that this show completely took me over. I was obsessed with this show trying to find any empty slot of time to shove in another episode. Usually with a show that takes 45 minutes to get through one episode, I will take my time and really get through it in a few months per season. However, with this show, I powered out 18 episodes in just over a week. Man this show is good! Like I said, if you haven’t seen it, I want you to be able to go into it blind. So, I’m not going to tell you too much about it other than it is set in 1980, has that retro feel… and Guess what! It has this guy in it as a main character!
Joe Flaherty is such a great comedian and it is awesome to see him in such an important role in this show. Best place I know to watch Freaks and Geeks is Paramount+.

It’s kind of crazy that this show is about a bunch of high schoolers but it had me thinking about issues in my life like love, relationships, friendships that I want to repair or move on from, and surprisingly enough it took me to a pretty existential place at times. This show stuck with me and I can easily say it’s one of my favorite shows i’ve ever watched!

Ok well, go enjoy the show! I know I did.
